Ng Xi graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, majoring in the Erhu under the tutelage of the renowned Erhu master and China first-grade performer, Mr. Zhang Yuming.

At the age of 13, she joined the Foon Yew High School Chinese Orchestra and began learning the Erhu. At 17, she studied Erhu performance with Teacher Sia Huan Ping. During her school years, she served as the concert master and student conductor.

In order to enhance her Erhu performance skills, she went to Singapore to study under Mr. Zhang Yuming in 2016. In 2018, she was admitted to the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and the Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra, participating in numerous performances of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and the Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra, including joint performances with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra and tours in China. She served as the principal Zhonghu player in the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Chinese Orchestra. During her school years, she also studied Zheng performance with the Singaporean young Zheng player, Shen Qi.

She is currently an Erhu and Zheng instructor at the Foon Yew High School(Seri Alam) Chinese Orchestra and also serves as the conductor and instructor for the SJK(C) Pei Hwa Chinese Orchestra and the SJK(C) Thai Hong Chinese Orchestra.
